Love Island USA’s Alannah Keyser Breaks Silence on Removal & Racial Slur Video

Alannah Keyser took to social media to address her removal from Love Island USA Season 8. She was fired over her usage of a racial slur in resurfaced videos and posts. The backlash ignited after she debuted in the reality show as a bombshell during night 1 of Casa Amor.

Keyser shared a video on TikTok, addressing the controversy over her usage of the N-word in old videos and posts, which also led to her being removed from Love Island USA. She initiated the video, saying that she’s aware of the buzz online. Keyser addressed her singing video initially, where she sings along to Roddy Ricch’s song, which consists of the slur. She added, “I’m sorry to whoever has seen that video and has been offended by it; that was never my intention. The video is from six years ago, and that word is just not in my vocabulary anymore.”

The 21-year-old then went on to address the screenshots circulating online, which she believes are “falsified,” while condemning racism. “I do want to say directly that I do not support racism or discrimination of any kind, and I never have. When I first found out that these things were going around online, it really broke my heart, and I couldn’t do anything about it. But this has definitely been a learning lesson for me, and it sucks that I didn’t get a chance to really show my personality and who I am,” she continued. Keyser further said how she’ll continue spreading positivity and helping others, as it’s who she is and not what’s portrayed online. This note appears after the screen cuts to black.

The USC School of Cinematic Arts student entered the villa on Day 16 and was removed after the controversy on Day 18. Despite being let go, she did appear for the first 20 minutes on last Thursday’s episode with reduced screentime. In it, the narrator, Iain Stirling, also announced that Keyser had “left Casa Mor.”
