HBO Displays Harry Potter Show’s Epic New Hogwarts & Quidditch Costumes

HBO has revealed redesigned Quidditch uniforms for its upcoming Harry Potter reboot TV show. Fresh Gryffindor and Slytherin costumes debuted publicly at Licensing Expo 2026 in Las Vegas. HBO finally gives audiences a clearer idea of how it plans to visually separate the reboot from the original film franchise.

The newly revealed outfits take a noticeably different direction from the Warner Bros. movies. HBO’s Quidditch uniforms feature longer flowing capes and stronger house colors. Slytherin’s green appears much darker, while Gryffindor’s gear leans heavily into deep red shades instead of the gray-heavy style used in the older films.

Many viewers online called the redesign more modern and visually bold. One fan wrote, “Loving the Quidditch uniform, it looks so 90s btw and the use of tartan! Hogwarts is supposed to be in the Scottish Highlands after all.” Another fan also praised the uniform, saying, “Looks really pretty, I want one.”

The reboot stars Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. HBO previously confirmed that each season will adapt one of J.K. Rowling’s books, with reports suggesting roughly eight hours will be dedicated to every novel. That longer format is expected to include several storylines skipped in the movies due to runtime limits.

Quidditch remains one of the wizarding world’s most iconic fictional sports. Played on broomsticks, the game involves seven-player teams, goal scoring through floating hoops, and the chase for the Golden Snitch, worth 150 points. The sport became a massive fan favorite through both the books and films, making the costume reveal a major talking point among longtime followers of the franchise.

The original Harry Potter movies starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint became one of Hollywood’s biggest fantasy franchises, earning billions worldwide. HBO’s reboot is being written by Francesca Gardiner, while Mark Mylod will direct multiple episodes. The series is currently scheduled to premiere on HBO Max this Christmas.
