Fans waiting for another chapter of Young Justice may need a lot more patience. A recent update from voice actor Zeno Robinson suggests the animated DC series has no immediate plans for a fifth season.
Young Justice Season 5 isn’t happening anytime soon
The latest update on the future of Young Justice doesn’t offer much hope for a quick comeback. Zeno Robinson, who voices Cyborg in the series, revealed that discussions about Season 5 simply have not started yet. In an interview, he said that whenever he asks co-creator Greg Weisman about the possibility, the response remains uncertain.
“When I talk to Greg, the answer is always ‘No, but you never know,’” Robinson explained. He added that the show has always had to prove its popularity through viewership numbers, even though it regularly lands among the platform’s top-performing titles (via The Direct).
Robinson also made it clear that there are currently no active conversations about another season. He admitted he would love to return, but the situation is unclear, especially with ongoing changes around Warner Bros., which controls the franchise. “But no… There haven’t really been any talks,” he said, noting that the decision ultimately rests with Warner Bros. “I wish… there’s just no talks.”
The history of Young Justice explains why fans still hold out hope for a comeback. The animated series first aired on Cartoon Network before getting canceled in 2013. Years later, strong streaming demand on Netflix helped bring the show back.
The revival arrived in 2019 with a third season on DC Universe. The series later shifted platforms again, landing on HBO Max for Season 4, titled Young Justice: Phantoms. That chapter wrapped up in June 2022, and the show has not received another official renewal since then.
Behind the scenes, the creators still have stories ready to go. Artist Christopher Jones previously said the team keeps detailed story outlines and character databases for future arcs. But those ideas will stay on hold unless the studio gives the green light for another season.
