Popular Netflix Action TV Show Renewed for Season 4

Less than a month after making its return with Season 3, one of Netflix‘s hit action thriller series has finally been granted a fourth season renewal.

Per Deadline, Gabriel Basso‘s The Night Agent is officially coming back for Season 4, which will now be filmed in Los Angeles. This comes over three months after it was first reported that the show scored a $31.6 million (40%) California tax credit, which hinted at the streamer’s plans of relocating the show’s main production from New York to Los Angeles.

What did The Night Agent showrunner say about the Season 4 renewal?

“It’s been a wild ride filming The Night Agent in five countries across three continents to this point, and we’re so thrilled that the adventures of Peter Sutherland will continue into Season 4,” showrunner Shawn Ryan said in a statement. “Our writers, our cast, and our crew stand ready to answer the call to bring our incredible fans even more twists, turns, and thrills.”

Based on Matthew Quirk’s novel, The Night Agent was created and executive-produced by showrunner Shawn Ryan. The Season 3 cast included Basso, Louis Herthum, Stephen Moyer, Callum Vinson, David Lyons, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Jennifer Morrison, Albert Jones, Ward Horton, and Genesis Rodriguez. It is a production by Sony Pictures Television and MiddKid Productions. Since its debut in 2023, the show has received an average approval rating of 82% on Rotten Tomatoes.

“In Season 3, Night Agent Peter Sutherland is called in to track down a young Treasury Agent who fled to Istanbul with sensitive government intel after killing his boss. This kicks off a sequence of events where Peter investigates a dark money network while avoiding its paid assassins, putting him on a collision course with a relentless journalist,” reads the show’s newest synopsis. “Working together, they uncover buried secrets and old grudges that threaten to bring the government to its knees — and get them both killed in the process.”
