Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 gets its first poster

Netflix has released the first official poster for Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, an upcoming animated series set in the Stranger Things universe. Netflix revealed the poster on its official X account (formerly Twitter) and announced that a teaser will debut on Monday.

Eric Robles develops Tales from ’85 and sets the story between seasons two and three. The series reintroduces the town of Hawkins in 1985 as it faces new supernatural threats. Robles explains that a mysterious force disrupts the town. Familiar locations return, and new supernatural creatures emerge. These threats include mutated pumpkins from the Upside Down and organisms that resemble aggressive vines.

The voice cast includes Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, and Luca Diaz as Mike. Elisha “EJ” Williams voices Lucas, Braxton Quinney plays Dustin, Ben Plessala portrays Will, and Brett Gipson voices Hopper. Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips also appear in undisclosed roles.

The Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Hilary Leavitt serve as executive producers alongside Robles. Animation is provided by Flying Bark Productions. Ross Duffer stated, “With animation, there’s really no limits… Eric and his team can just go wild… and they have.” Robles added, “Get your flashlight, get your backpack because it’s going to be amazing.”

Netflix confirmed that the series, described as “entry-level Stranger Things,” will premiere in 2026. The animation style features “bigger heads and sculpted puppet-like faces,” with vibrant, neon visuals inspired by 1980s cartoons like The Real Ghostbusters. Carlos Huante contributed creature design, adding a Lovecraftian horror tone within a family-friendly format.
