Wonder Man: Disney+ Reveals When Show Takes Place in MCU Timeline

The MCU timeline placement of Wonder Man has been revealed.

Marvel Television’s Wonder Man is now streaming on Disney+. Created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, the show stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams/Wonder Man, while Ben Kingsley also reprises his MCU role as Trevor Slattery.

Where does Wonder Man take place in the MCU timeline?

As pointed out on Twitter by @SmashTriviaJohn, Disney+ has updated its official MCU timeline and placed Wonder Man at the very end. Meaning, this show features some of the most recent events to happen in the MCU.

Having said that, there is some confusion around the matter, given that Wonder Man jumps around in time a fair amount. As noted by @DiabolicalPock, the show ending around 2028 would make sense when factoring in “the full production timeline of the movie and then the premiere and then Simon preparing to break into the DODC.”

That means that some of the other episodes — parts of the fourth one, for example, notably take place not long after 2013’s Frozen was released — are set more in the past and could be happening at the same time as other Marvel Studios projects, while it appears that just the finale would be in 2028.

The synopsis for Wonder Man reads, “Aspiring Hollywood actor Simon Williams is struggling to get his career off the ground. During a chance meeting with Trevor Slattery, an actor whose biggest roles may be well behind him, Simon learns legendary director Von Kovak is remaking the superhero film Wonder Man. These two actors at opposite ends of their careers doggedly pursue life-changing roles in this film as audiences get a peek behind the curtain of the entertainment industry.”

In addition to Abdul-Mateen and Kingsley, the Marvel show’s cast includes Arian Moayed as P. Cleary, X Mayo as Janelle Jackson, Zlatko Burić as Von Kovak, Byron Bowers as Doorman, and more.
