Wonder Man Could Join the Avengers on 1 Condition

Wonder Man writer Andrew Guest recently spoke about how the titular superhero could join the Avengers in the future of the MCU. The Marvel miniseries is set to come out on Disney+ on January 27, 2026. The show is created by Guest and Destin Daniel Cretton and features Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the lead role.

Wonder Man’s Avengers future discussed by Andrew Guest

The head writer of Wonder Man, Andrew Guest, recently spoke with ComicBook and shared whether Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Simon Williams has a chance to become a part of the Avengers.

Guest asserted that Marvel will see how the character connects with fans and conveyed, “I think Marvel’s approach to this is let each project stand on its own, and if an audience connects with it and if they connect with the character, then they can figure out how to keep using them.” He also gave an example of Ben Kingsley’s character, Trevor Slattery, appearing multiple times in the MCU. Guest added, “As we just discussed, Trevor Slattery, maybe you thought he would be a one-and-done after Iron Man 3, but Destin (Daniel Cretton) was able to bring him into Shang-Chi and find a whole other side of him. I was so thrilled to get to use that same character again, so hopefully, people fall in love with Simon Williams, and he can continue to live on.”

Currently, it is not known whether Wonder Man will have a major role in future Marvel projects after the miniseries. The official logline for Wonder Man states that the show focuses on Simon Williams, who is a struggling actor trying to pursue a life-changing role in the entertainment industry. However, things take a turn when he discovers his superpowers.

All eight episodes of the show will be released on the streaming platform at once.
