Netflix’s upcoming Man on Fire TV show has officially gotten its first look, revealing the first look at Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the starring role.
The new photo doesn’t give away too much, but does show off Abdul-Mateen II’s John Creasy in what looks to be a chaotic situation. The Man on Fire TV show will release sometime in 2026. Check out the first look at the show below:

What do we know about the Man on Fire TV show?
“Based on A.J. Quinnell’s book series, Man on Fire tells the story of John Creasy. Once a high-functioning and skilled Special Forces Mercenary, known for surviving even the most desolate of situations, Creasy is now plagued with intense PTSD. Determined to overcome his personal demons, he sets out on a path to redemption. But, before he can adjust to this new life, he finds himself back in the fire, fighting harder than ever,” reads the official synopsis of the show.
Alongside Abdul-Mateen II, the Man on Fire TV show also stars Billie Boullet, Bobby Cannavale, Alice Braga, Scoot McNairy, and Paul Ben-Victor. Kyle Killen will serve as writer and showrunner for the series, with Steven Caple Jr. directing the first two episodes of the series.
The series will be based on author A.J. Quinnell’s book series, which began in 1980 with the novel of the same name. Famously, that book was also adapted into a 2004 action thriller by director Tony Scott. Denzel Washington, Dakota Fanning, and Christopher Walken starred in that film, which was a smash hit.
