Taylor Sheridan’s newest Yellowstone spin-off, The Madison, is already moving forward with a second season. While the first season has yet to premiere, signs of continued production activity have already surfaced across multiple filming locations.
The Madison Season 2 is already in production ahead of the show’s premiere
The Madison has already entered production for Season 2, even though Season 1 has no confirmed premiere date. Taylor Sheridan’s series filmed scenes in downtown Dallas on Tuesday night, transforming parts of the city into New York City with NYPD vehicles, yellow taxis, and urban set pieces. The shoot ran from 6:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. It caused road and sidewalk closures along Main Street and Ervay Street.
According to Collider, Season 2 production began in Montana in September 2025 before moving to Texas. Local agency Legacy Casting posted casting notices for shoots in Dallas, Denton, and Fort Worth throughout December. Filming in Denton started on December 1, 2025.
The Madison stars Michelle Pfeiffer as Stacy Clyburn, a New York matriarch who relocates her family to rural Montana’s Madison River Valley following a tragedy. Matthew Fox co-stars as Paul, a self-reliant outdoorsman. The show is described as “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.” Kurt Russell, Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova, and Kevin Zegers are also part of the ensemble cast.
The series was originally linked to Matthew McConaughey, who exited due to scheduling conflicts. It is part of the Yellowstone universe, although its exact narrative connection remains unclear. Director Christina Alexandra Voros stated, “It’s such a different story… We are in Montana, but it is seen through a completely different lens… There are parallels in the scope of landscape and a human being’s place in that space, but it’s coming at it from a completely different point of view” (via Variety). No release date has been announced for Season 1.
