Suits: L.A. Pilot Cast Adds John Amos & More to Spin-off

According to Deadline, NBC‘s Suits: L.A. pilot has welcomed three new cast members to its roster for the upcoming spin-off of the popular legal drama series.

Emmy nominee John Amos (Good Times), Victoria Justice (Victorious) and Kevin Weisman (Alias) have been tapped for guest-starring roles. Amos is expected to portray himself as one of the main character’s celebrity clients, while Justice will be playing a confident and ambitious movie star named Dylan Pryor. As for Weisman, he’s set for the role of Lester Thompson, a smart and powerful man who is used to getting his way. He’s just been charged with murder and has to listen to others to stay out of prison.

What to expect from the Suits spin-off?

“Suits: L.A. centers on Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, who has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles,” reads the logline. “His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”

The series hails from original series creator Aaron Korsh, who is executive producing with David Bartis, Doug Liman, and Gene Klein. The spin-off stars Stephen Amell as Ted Black, Josh McDermitt as Stuart Lane, Lex Scott Davis as Erica Rollins, Troy Winbush as Kevin, Alice Lee as Leah, and Bryan Greenberg as Rick Dodsen. The pilot is being directed and executive produced by Victoria Mahoney (The Old Guard 2).
