The BBC and Masterpiece PBS have revealed the first images from Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light, an adaptation of the final novel in Hilary Mantel’s trilogy. The Mirror and the Light is a follow-up to Wolf Hall, the 2015 Emmy-nominated series based on Mantel’s first two novels from the trilogy.
Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light stars Mark Rylance and Damian Lewis, who reprise their roles as Thomas Cromwell and King Henry VIII, respectively. Besides Rylance and Lewis, the Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light images feature Kate Phillips as Jane Seymour, Lilit Lesser as Princess Mary, Jonathan Pryce as Cardinal Wolsey, Harriet Walter as Lady Margaret Pole, Harry Melling as Thomas Wriothesley, Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Rafe Sadler, Timothy Spall as the Duke of Norfolk, Alex Jennings as Stephen Gardiner, and Charlie Rowe as Gregory Cromwell.

What to Expect in Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light?
The official synopsis reads: “Eagerly awaited and years in the making, Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light will trace the final four years of Cromwell’s life, completing his journey from self-made man to the most feared, influential figure of his time. Cromwell is as complex as he is unforgettable: a politician and a fixer, a diplomat and a father, a man who both defied and defined his age.”
Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light is directed by Peter Kosminsky (The Undeclared War) and adapted for television by Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy). Kosminsky and Straughan worked on 2015’s Wolf Hall in the same roles.
Produced by Lisa Osborne, Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light is a co-production between Playground and Company Pictures. Executive producers include Kosmubsky, Colin Callender, Noëlette Buckley, Lucy Richer, and Susanne Simpson.
Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light is expected to premiere later this year. The series will air on BBC One and Player in the U.K. and Masterpiece on PBS in the U.S.
