Speaking with Variety, Euphoria star Storm Reid, who plays Rue’s younger sister Gia, has addressed the most recent news that the Season 3 production has been officially pushed back to an indefinite date.
“We would all hope to be able to go back tomorrow, but there are logistics that have to be figured out. So even though I’m a little disappointed, I’m not surprised,” Reid said, as she remains optimistic about the show’s future. “I do know if we do go back that I am sure we will continue to be authentic and represent the real world.”
The next installment to HBO’s hit teen drama was initially meant to start filming later this year since the network was previously targeting a 2025 return date for the show. A recent report also suggested that the delay might be due to the creative team and the network’s clashing visions for Season 3. At the moment, HBO has given its Euphoria cast the permission to “pursue other opportunities” while creator Sam Levinson continues to develop the Season 3 script.
