Jon Bernthal is reportedly in talks to star in AMC’s The Terror: Devil in Silver.
According to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, Bernthal is currently in negotiations to play a role in the upcoming third season of The Terror.
What do we know about The Terror: Devil in Silver?
The Terror: Devil in Silver is based on Victor LaValle’s 2012 novel, The Devil in Silver. LaValle co-wrote the six episodes along with Chris Cantwell, who also serves as an executive producer. Karyn Kusama is directing the first two episodes of The Terror: Devil in Silver and also serves as an executive producer.
Additional executive producers attached to The Terror: Devil in Silver include David Zucker, Alexandra Milchan, Guymon Casady, and Scott Lambert, while AMC Studios will produce the series.
The series, per Deadline, “tells the story of Pepper – a working class moving man, who through a combination of bad luck and a bad temper, finds himself wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital – an institution filled with the people society would rather forget. There, he must contend with patients who work against him, doctors who harbor grim secrets, and perhaps even the very Devil himself. As Pepper navigates a hellscape where nothing is as it seems, he finds that the only path to freedom is to face down the entity which thrives on the suffering within New Hyde’s walls – but doing so may prove that the worst demons of all live inside him.”
According to Sneider, Bernthal could close a deal to play Pepper in the series. Along with starring in The Punisher and movies like The Wolf of Wall Street and, most recently, Ava DuVernay’s Origin, Bernthal previously worked with AMC when he played Shane Walsh on the first two seasons of The Walking Dead.
The Terror premiered on AMC in March 2018. The second season of the anthology series, subtitled “Infamy,” followed in August 2019.
