Prime Target: Leo Woodall to Lead Apple TV+ Thriller From Ridley Scott

Leo Woodall and Quintessa Swindell are set to star in the conspiracy thriller series Prime Target, Apple TV+ announced Wednesday. The series follows a mathematician (Woodall) who, on the verge of unlocking the secret to prime numbers, faces a dangerous threat trying to stop his research. Prime Target is created by Sherlock writer Steve Thompson, with Ridley Scott signed on to produce.

Woodall rose to prominence as Jack on The White Lotus Season 2. After a recurring role on Citadel, Woodall recently starred in Netflix’s One Day, the TV series based on the beloved novel. Swindell is best known for her roles in Paul Schrader’s Master Gardener and DC’s Black Adam.

What to Expect in Prime Target?

The official synopsis from Apple: “Prime Target features a brilliant young math postgraduate, Edward Brooks (played by Woodall), on the verge of a major breakthrough. If he succeeds in finding a pattern in prime numbers, he will hold the key to every computer in the world. Soon he begins to realize an unseen enemy is trying to destroy his idea before it’s even born, which throws him into the orbit of Taylah Sanders, a female NSA agent (played by Swindell) who’s been tasked with watching and reporting on the mathematician’s behavior. Together they start to unravel the troubling conspiracy Edward is at the heart of.”

Besides Woodall and Swindell, Prime Target’s cast features Stephen Rea, David Morrissey, Martha Plimpton, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jason Flemyng, Harry Lloyd, Ali Suliman, Fra Fee, and Joseph Mydell.

Thompson will executive produce alongside Brady Hood, who directed all eight episodes. Additional executive producers include Scott, Ed Rubin, Beth Pattinson, Emma Broughton, Yariv Milchan, Arnon Milchan, Michael Schaefer, Marina Brackenbury, and David W. Zucker. Laura Hastings-Smith, who also serves as an executive producer, is the series producer.

Scott’s Scott Free Productions and New Regency will produce for Prime Target for Apple TV+.
