The Simpsons Executive Producers on if Homer Will Stop Strangling Bart

After questions arose as to whether The Simpsons would still show Homer strangling Bart as a gag, the executive producers of the long-running series have spoken.

The episode “McMansion & Wife” — the third episode of The Simpsons Season 25 — featured a joke about how Homer no longer chokes Bart, with the cartoon father saying, “I don’t do that anymore. Times have changed.” This prompted online discussion about how The Simpsons has changed and whether the gag could ever pop up again in the future.

Variety has reported that the series’ executive producers responded to the controversy with a picture of Homer Simpson strangling Bart while saying, “Why you little clickbaiting-!!” Bart, on the other hand, is holding a phone that says “Simpsons: no more strangling.” The producers also released a brief comment on the situation, stating, “Homer Simpson was unavailable for comment as he was busy strangling Bart.”
