Drag Race Alum Trixie Mattel Lands New Reality Series

Fresh off the success of the limited reality series Trixie Motel, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 3 winner Trixie Mattel has landed a new home-improvement show alongside David Silver, titled Trixie Motel: Drag Me Home. HGTV announced that the upcoming series will premiere in summer 2024.

Trixie Motel: Drag Me Home will consist of four episodes and follow Trixie and Silver as they move into a new property.

“Pushing the envelope during their first year as motel mavens, the couple will take the leap into home ownership and cohabitation with the purchase of their dream home in Los Angeles, but it will need some revamping to make it fit for a queen,” the official synopsis for Trixie Motel: Drag Me Home reads.

Trixie, who came to prominence during the seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, has previously worked with partner Silver in Trixie Motel, where the two renovate a rundown motel in Palm Springs.

Trixie Mattel has entered a new era

HGTV’s head of content, Loren Ruch, said that the new series will see the couple “progress as motel proprietors,” navigating the “highs and lows of a personal renovation project while moving in together for the first time.”

“Trixie Motel quickly became a fan-favorite program tapping into the outrageous vision that Trixie and David brought to life while also showing the sweet dynamic of their real-life relationship,” Ruch said in a statement.

The follow-up series is executive produced by Property Brothers’ Drew and Jonathan Scott.

After finishing sixth in the seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race — as well as winning the third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars — Trixie went on to explore other ventures, becoming one of the most successful Drag Race contestants. She is also serving as the co-host for the comedy web series UNHhhh alongside Drag Race Season 7 co-star Katya Zamolodchikova.
