Marvel TV Shows to Lean Toward Serialization Rather Than Limited Series

Though most of Marvel Studios‘ Disney+ shows have been limited series, it seems that the company’s TV offerings will lean more towards serialization going forward.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Marvel Studios is moving away from limited series, with the outlet noting that the company is “leaning into the idea of multiseason serialized TV, stepping away from the limited-series format that has defined it.”

The report also says that Marvel wants to make shows that go on for “several seasons” so that the characters can establish a connection with the audience, keeping upcoming shows from “feeling as if they are there as a setup for a big crossover event.”

This lines up with other information from the report about Daredevil: Born Again undergoing a “significant creative reboot” in its production going forward.

What is the most recent Marvel Studios Disney+ TV show?

Marvel Studios’ most recent television series have been Loki Season 2, which is currently premiering new episodes weekly, and the limited series Secret Invasion — which starred Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, and Emilia Clarke.

The viewership numbers for Loki Season 2’s premiere last week were recently released by Disney, showing that the Tom Hiddleston-led second season is off to a solid start in terms of viewers.
