Johnny Hardwick Passes Away, King of the Hill Star Was 64

Johnny Hardwick, best known for his role as Dale Gribble on the hit comedy series King of the Hill, has died at the age 64 according to a report from TMZ.

According to TMZ, Texas law enforcement was called to the home Hardwick on Tuesday for a welfare check when they discovered him. No foul play is suspected in the death, and it’s currently unclear what the cause of death is at this time.

Alongside playing the conspiracy-driven, paranoid Dale Gribble on King of the Hill, the stand-up comedian served as a staff writer, story editor, and producer on the hit comedy. In 1999, he won an Emmy Award for his work as a producer on the series and saw four Prime Time Emmy nominations for the series as a whole.

Aside from the show, Hardwick also had a somewhat active YouTube channel and comedy career. On his YouTube channel, Hardwick would cover a variety of songs and also host talks with his subscribers.

Prior to his death, Hardwick was listed as returning for the planned King of the Hill revival, but it’s unclear if any production on that began before his passing.

ComingSoon sends condolences to Hardwick’s family and friends at this time.
