According to Deadline, The 100 alum Richard Harmon has been tapped for a recurring role in the ninth and final season of The CW’s long-running superhero series The Flash. Harmon is set to portray DC villain Owen Mercer, better known as Captain Boomerang.
Harmon is no stranger to the superhero genre as he previously appeared as a background character in Smallville. Besides being one of the original cast members of The 100, his other TV credits include The Killing, The Secret Circle, Continuum, Bates Motel, Rogue, and Van Helsing.
Described as a comic book favorite, new post-Crisis Captain Boomerang “has recently been released from Iron Heights with a chip on his shoulder. But the twinkle in his eye disguises a dangerous and violent threat to Central City.”
The Flash series currently stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Danielle Nicolet as Cecile Horton, and Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West.
Based on the characters from DC Comics, The Flash is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Todd Helbing.
