A revival of the hit animated comedy series King of the Hill has been in the works for some time now, but if and when it happens, it won’t be at Fox.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter recently, Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn said that the original home of King of the Hill won’t be part of any potential new series. According to Thorn, the focus for Fox is instead on their newer wave of animation series and seemingly less on their legacy shows.
“That’s not going to be with Fox,” Thorn said. “We love that team, and we love that show. It’s obviously part of our animation legacy. But we’re really focusing on animation, launching kind of the next wave of our signature animated series while still having our great legacy shows.”
The news comes following the formation of Bandera Entertainment by Mike Judge and co-creator Greg Daniels. Amongst the list of series the company was working on at the time, a King of the Hill revival was listed. More information then popped up at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, when Judge said that the chances of a revival were “very good.”

In addition to the return of King of the Hill, which Daniels and Judge are currently not sharing official details on, Bandera’s Bad Crimes has been ordered at Netflix. The 10-episode series stars Nicole Byer and Lauren Lapkus and is described as an “adult animation dark comedy procedural.”
