Queen Charlotte-Led Bridgerton Spin-Off Has Found Its Young Violet

According to Deadline, British actress Connie Jenkins-Greig (New Blood, The Take Down) has officially been tapped for a recurring role in Shonda Rhimes’ upcoming Bridgerton spin-off miniseries about the origins of Queen Charlotte.

Jenkins-Greig is set to portray the role of a young Violet Ledger, who would later become the Viscountess Violet Bridgerton. Described as a “kind and inquisitive teenager,” Violet is the daughter of Vivian and Lord Ledger, who are expected to be portrayed by Katie Brayben and Keir Charles.

“Centered on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton,” reads the logline.

The limited series is based on the origins of the historical figure Queen Charlotte. While the series centers on the rise and love life of a young Queen Charlotte, it will also focus on Violet Bridgerton and Lady Danbury.

It stars India Amarteifio (Line of Duty) as a young Queen Charlotte, newcomer Arsema Thomas as a young Agatha Danbury, Corey Mylchreest (Sandman) as a young King George, and Game of Thrones vet Michelle Fairley as Princess Augusta.

Additional cast includes Sam Clemmett (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) as Young Brimsley, Richard Cunningham (The Witcher) as Lord Bute, Tunji Kasim (Nancy Drew) as Adolphus, Rob Maloney (Casualty) as the Royal Doctor, and Cyril Nri (Cucumber) as Lord Danbury, and Hugh Sachs (Bridgerton Seasons 1 & 2) as Brimsley (older).

The untitled Bridgerton spin-off is created and written by Shonda Rhimes, who is also set as the showrunner. It will feature the return of Golda Rosheuval, Adjoa Andoh, and Ruth Gemmell as they reprise their respective roles of Queen Charlotte, Lady Danbury, and Lady Violet Bridgerton.

The prequel will be executive produced by Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Tom Verica, who will also be directing the limited drama.
