2 Actors Dead, 6 Injured in Crash Involving Crew of Netflix’s The Chosen One

Two actors working on the Netflix series The Chosen One have died in a car crash near the city of Mulegé on the Baja California Sur peninsula, according to a report from Variety.

The actors — Raymundo Garduño Cruz and Juan Francisco González — were traveling in a van with six other members of the production team when the crash occurred. According to the report, the other six members of the production were injured but did not sustain any fatal injuries. All eight members of the series had been working on the series in the Santa Rosalia area.

It’s currently unclear exactly how the crash happened, with the only report coming from local media, which states the van ran off the road before flipping over in a desert area. It’s unknown how the accident will affect the filming of The Chosen One.

The Chosen One follows a 12-year-old boy, who learns he is the returned Jesus Christ and possesses the powers of him as well as the destiny to save the world. The series is based on the comic book American Jesus by writer Mark Millar and artist Peter Gross.
