Bryce Dallas Howard: Clone Wars Fans Will Love Ahsoka’s Disney+ Show

With The Book of Boba Fett wrapped up, there are several other new Disney+ shows on the horizon for Star Wars fans. One of the most intriguing is Ahsoka, a series that will expand on a popular character from the Clone Wars cartoon. Mandolorian director and Gwen Stacy from Spider-Man 3 Bryce Dallas Howard had a recent chat with Romper, and the conversation briefly turned to the cult favorite hero from a galaxy far, far away.

While she couldn’t reveal anything exclusive about the show, Howard did promise that fans familiar with the character from Clone Wars is in for a treat.

“Without giving anything away, you are going to love the Ahsoka show that’s coming up,” said Howard. “I cannot tell you anything, but what I can say is that you being a fan of the Clone Wars will be greatly rewarded.”

One of the reasons why is one of Howard’s coworkers, Dave Filoni, a director and creator who “knows Star Wars better than anyone other than George [Lucas]” according to her.  “[Filoni] was taught by George when he was doing all of the Clone Wars because they did that together. And we worked together on Mandalorian.”

Howard also talked about her experience with the franchise before becoming a director, including meeting Natale Portman one time at summer camp before she became Queen Amidala.

Ahsoka appeared in live-action for the first time in Chapter 13 of The Mandalorian‘s second season as played by Rosario Dawson. It was one of several episodes from that season that helped set up Disney’s expansion into a collection of Star Wars streaming shows. In addition to Ahsoka, Disney has the soon-to-be-released Obi-Wan, a show focusing on Lando Calrissian, and a series set in the far past of the Star Wars timeline.
