Walton Goggins Will Star in Prime Video’s Fallout Series

After officially moving forward, Prime Video’s Fallout series now has its first big actor. Walton Goggins, known for his roles in The Righteous Gemstones and Ant-Man and the Wasp, will be leading the series in an unconfirmed role.

Deadline’s report on the casting states that while it hasn’t been revealed who he will play, it is said that he will portray a ghoul. Although there are other types of non-human ghouls, ghouls, in this context, are irradiated humans with zombie-esque features, but can retain many of their human qualities. Production is supposed to start this year, so it’s possible that more details will come out about this character and the show at large as 2022 rolls by.

Fallout takes place after a nuclear war and the television series will feature Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner as showrunners. Robertson-Dworet has writing credits on Captain Marvel and the 2018 Tomb Raider film, while Wagner has experience as an executive producer on PortlandiaSilicon Valley, and Baskets. Jonathan Nolan is set to direct the premiere.

The Fallout series was launched in 1997 on PC by Interplay Productions. However, its popularity ballooned in 2008 after Bethesda released Fallout 3 for consoles and PC, which gave it an ambitious action spin similar to its The Elder Scrolls fantasy games. Since then, Fallout 4, the multiplayer-focused Fallout 76, and a mobile title Fallout Shelter have been released.
