Mass Effect: Henry Cavill Interested in Being Part of Amazon Series

The Witcher star Henry Cavill has recently said that he would be very interested in working on a television series based on the Mass Effect video game series.

Speaking to TechRadar during a press junket for The Witcher‘s second season, Cavill was asked about whether or not he’d like to be involved in the series. Cavill was also asked whether or not he was involved, after having teased something suggesting that earlier this year.

“I can neither confirm nor deny, but of course I’d be interested,” Cavill said. “I’m a huge fan of the Mass Effect games and all depending on the storyline — there are so many factors that go into it — but the IP itself, I think, would be fantastic to be a part of and a lot of fun.”

Earlier this year, the actor took to Instagram to share a photo of himself in a makeup chair, with a blurred-out script in the foreground and a caption that teased a potential “secret project.” After some quick editing and research, fans quickly revealed that the script contained tons of references to Mass Effect, leading many to think that Cavill was working on a series for it.

Things were a bit quiet since then, until last month when it was reported that Amazon Studios would be nearing a deal to develop a live-action television series based on the critically acclaimed game. While it’s still unknown whether or not Cavill will be appearing in it or was simply teasing fans earlier this year, he certainly sounds like he’d love to be a part of another big video game franchise.
