The series will be produced by Reese Witherspoon and is based on the New York Times No. 1 bestseller from Laura Dave. Garner will replace Roberts, who was forced to pull out of the series over a scheduling issue. This is Garner’s second AppleTV+ limited series, as she’s also set to star in an adaptation of Amy Silverstein’s memoir My Glory Was I Had Such Friends.

The Last Thing He Told Me is created by Laura Dave and co-created by Oscar-winning screenwriter Josh Singer. The story follows a woman who forms a relationship with her 16-year-old stepdaughter while also learning more about her husband’s mysterious disappearance.
