Arcane: League of Legends Series Gets First Trailer, Release Date

The first trailer for Riot Games and Netflix’s League of Legends animated series Arcane was shown off during Netflix’s Tudum event on Saturday, highlighting the struggle for power that many find themselves in.

Alongside the new trailer, the series was also finally given a release date, with the show set to hit the streaming platform on November 6, 2021.

Set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun, Arcane follows the origins of two iconic League champions-and the power that will tear them apart. There is currently no voice cast attached to the project yet.

Leading the series are Hailee Steinfeld (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) and Ella Purnell (Army of the Dead), who are lending their voices to the characters of Vi and Jinx, respectively. Joining them are Kevin Alejandro (Lucifer) as Jayce, Katie Leung (Harry Potter films) as Caitlyn, Jason Spisak (Young Justice) as Silco, Toks Olagundoye (Castlevania) as Mel, JB Blanc (Dota: Dragon’s Blood) as Vander, and Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones) as Viktor.

The League of Legends animated event series is created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee. It is produced by Riot Games in partnership with animation studio Fortiche Productions.

Arcane is part of Netflix’s growing list of upcoming animated series based on video games such as Resident Evil: Infinite DarknessSplinter CellFar Cry 3: Blood Dragon, a Castlevania spinoff series, and more.
