First Footage for Vikings: Valhalla Highlights History’s Most Famous Vikings

During Netflix’s Tudum event on Saturday, the first official footage for the highly anticipated Vikings: Valhalla was shown off.

Check out the first Vikings: Valhalla footage below that shows the arrival of some of history’s most famous Vikings to the world, and their struggle to make history:

Vikings: Valhalla is a spin-off to History’s Vikings, and takes place a century after the original series while telling the stories of some of the best-known Norsemen in history. Everyone from Leif Erikson, Freydís Eiríksdóttir, and even William the Conqueror will be involved in the series.

Vikings: Valhalla is set to star Laura Berlin, Sam Corlett, Bradley Freegard, Frida Gustavsson, and Caroline Henderson, with Vikings creator Michael Hirst returning to the series as well. The series will be written and executive produced by Jeb Stuart (Die Hard).

Vikings: Valhalla promises to be everything that fans love about the franchise: heart-pounding, unstoppable action rooted in rich characters and dramatic storytelling that shines the light on family, loyalty and power,” Channing Dungey, vice president of original series for Netflix, said in a statement in 2019 when the series was announced. “We are thrilled to bring the next iteration of the Vikings saga to life with Michael Hirst, Jeb Stuart, Morgan O’Sullivan and MGM Television.”
