Based on the fan-favorite open-world driving video games, the Driver television series will focus on undercover agent and ex-racecar driver John Tanner and his various run-ins with a crime syndicate that he’s hellbent on taking down. The move comes as Ubisoft continues to try and establish itself in the world of film and television, having already announced its intent to release films and series based on its other properties, including Tom Clancy’s The Division, Beyond Good & Evil, and Assassin’s Creed.

According to Ubisoft, the Driver series will be released exclusively on Binge.com, a brand new streaming platform that was initially announced during E3 2021 and will act as a destination for original, premium content inspired by some of the most popular video game properties. The platform won’t be out until 2022, although the Driver series has no release information so it’s unknown whether or not to expect it to launch alongside the new streamer.

The series will be produced by Ubisoft Film & Television, with Jason Altman, Danielle Kreinik, and Genevieve Jones serving as executive producers. Binge’s Allan Ungar and Vincent Talenti will also executive produce, with no other casting information available at this time.
