Justin Roiland’s Solar Opposites Gets Early Season 4 Renewal at Hulu

Hulu has officially granted Justin Roiland’s adult-animated series Solar Opposites an early fourth season renewal, ahead of its third season premiere in 2022.  Solar Opposites is part of Hulu’s growing slate of adult-animated shows including Crossing Swords and Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K.

The renewal also comes nearly three months after the sci-fi comedy series debuted its 8-episode second season last March. Since its debut, it has become the streamer’s most-watched Hulu Original comedy premiere of the year and had also earned a Certified Fresh rating from Rotten Tomatoes.

Solar Opposites centers around a team of four aliens who have escaped their exploding homeworld, only to crash land into a move-in-ready home in suburban America. They are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo and Yumyulack only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty, while Terry and Jesse love humans and all their TV, junk food, and fun stuff. Their mission: protect the Pupa, a living supercomputer that will one day evolve into its true form, consume them and terraform the Earth.

The series features the voices of Roliand as Korvo, Sean Giambrone as Yumyulack, Thomas Middleditch as Terry, and Mary Mack as Jesse. Season 2 guest-stars include Jane Lynch, Sterling K. Brown, Tiffany Haddish, Andy Daly, Christina Hendricks, Alfred Molina, and more.
