The Mysterious Benedict Society TV Spot Debuts Ahead of Disney+ Premiere

Disney+ has announced that their newest coming-of-age adventure series The Mysterious Benedict Society will officially make its premiere this Friday, June 25, with the first two episodes. This announcement also came with the release of a new TV spot and character posters, which you can check out in the gallery below, highlighting Emmy-winning actor Tony Hale’s dual roles as twin brothers-turned-enemies Mr. Benedict and L.D. Curtain. The upcoming Disney+ series marks Hale’s first major TV project as the lead after famously appearing as a series regular in HBO’s acclaimed comedy series Veep, which wrapped its 7-season run in 2019.

In The Mysterious Benedict Society, after winning a scholarship competition, four gifted orphans are recruited by the peculiar Mr. Benedict for a dangerous mission to save the world from a global crisis known as The Emergency. Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance must infiltrate the mysterious L.I.V.E. Institute to discover the truth behind the crisis. When the headmaster, the sophisticated Dr. Curtain appears to be behind this worldwide panic, the kids of “The Mysterious Benedict Society” must devise a plan to defeat him.

The coming-of-age series is written and created by Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay, with Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin set as showrunners. It stars Tony Hale, Kristen Schaal, MaameYaa Boafo, Ryan Hurst, Gia Sandhu, Mystic Inscho, Seth B. Carr, Emmy DeOliveira, and Marta Kessler.
