Jamie Bell, who was most recently in Amazon Prime Video’s Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, will star in the upcoming thriller television series Shining Girls.
Shining Girls is a metaphysical thriller based on the 2013 best-selling novel by Lauren Beukes. The television adaptation will see Silka Luisa as executive producer and showrunner. Award-winning actress Elisabeth Moss and Wagner Moura will star alongside Jamie Bell. MRC Television is the studio responsible for the upcoming project.
The show will follow a Chicago reporter named Kirby (played by Moss) as she survives an attempted murder. She then goes on a mission to hunt down her attacker. Moura will play a veteran journalist who unveils a story of a potential copycat attacker.
Moss will also serve as executive producer through Love & Squalor Pictures along with Lindsey McManus. Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson will executive produce through Appian Way. Beukes and Alan Page will also be executive producers on the project.
As mentioned above, Bell most recently starred in the Amazon Prime Video thriller Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse alongside Michael B. Jordan. He is also set to star as Fred Astaire in the Amazon biopic Fred & Ginger. He was also in films such as Rocketman, Snowpiercer, The Fantastic Four (2015), and The Adventures of Tintin.
Shining Girls is an Apple Original series and will debut on Apple TV+. It will be available alongside shows and films like Ted Lasso, For All Mankind, and the upcoming Foundation, an adaptation of the award-winning and influential science fiction novel by Isaac Asimov.
