Netflix’s Castlevania Final Season Photos Tease the End of Times

Following its official trailer release last Friday, Netflix continues to hyped up the return of their hit anime series Castlevania with the release of eight new photos from the upcoming fourth and final season. The photos provide us a preview of the impending clash between factions involving the series’ main characters including Trevor, Sypha, Alucard, and Carmilla. The series is scheduled to make its return on Thursday, May 13.

In the final season, Wallachia collapses into chaos as factions clash: some attempting to take control, others attempting to bring Dracula back from the dead.  Nobody is who they seem, and nobody can be trusted. These are the end times.

Based on Konami’s popular video game series, the Netflix anime centers around Trevor Belmont, Alucard and Sypha Belnades as they try to defend Wallachia from Dracula and his army, who is seeking vengeance against humanity for the death of his wife and Alucard’s mother, Lisa Tepes. The first two seasons adapted the game’s 1989 version titled Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, while the second and third seasons featured characters and story elements from the game’s 2005 version, Castlevania: Curse of Darkness.

Castlevania features the voice talents of Graham McTavish as Dracula, Richard Armitage as Trevor Belmont, Alejandra Reynoso as Sypha Belnades, James Callis as Alucard, Emily Swallow as Lisa, Matt Frewer as The Bishop, Tony Amendola as The Elder, Theo James as Hector, Adetokumboh M’Cormack as Isaac, Jaime Murray as Carmilla, Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey) as Lenore, Yasmine Al Massri as Morana, Bill Nighy as Saint German, Jason Isaacs as The Judge, Barbara Steele as Miranda, Lance Reddick as The Captain, and Rila Fukushima as Sumi.

Castlevania is executive produced by Warren Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Adi Shankar, and Fred Seibert. Production services are provided by Austin, Texas-based Powerhouse Animation with Brad Graeber supervising producer, Jason Williams as producer, and Sam Deats as director.
