Jennifer Jason Leigh to lead Amazon’s Hunters Season 2
According to Deadline, Academy Award nominee Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight, Atypical) has officially signed on for the leading role in the upcoming second season of Amazon Prime Video’s action-thriller series Hunters. Leigh is set to portray the new role of Chava, who is being described as a top Nazi Hunter. She will be leading the new season alongside Logan Lerman, who is reprising his role Jonah Heidelbaum from the first season.
SPOILER WARNING: It’s also still unclear whether Oscar winner Al Pacino will also be included in the second season or not, especially when Lerman’s Jonah shot him during the season finale after finding out about his true identity.
Inspire by real-life events, the series tells the story of a group known as the Hunters living in New York City in 1977. The Hunters discover that hundreds of former high-ranking Nazi officials are living among them and conspiring to create the Fourth Reich in the U.S. The group then sets out on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans.
The first season was led by Logan Lerman as Jonah Heidelbaum and Al Pacino, making it his first-ever major television role. It also starred Dylan Baker, Jerrika Hinton, Greg Austin, Catherine Tate, Josh Radnor, Tiffany Boone, Saul Rubinek, Lena Olin, Carol Kane, Louis Ozawa, Kate Mulvany, Dylan Bake, and Jeannie Berlin.
Hunters is created, written and executive produced by David Weil, who is also serving as a showrunner. Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Sonar Entertainment are producing The Hunt, while Peele and Win Rosenfeld (Dark Net) are executive producing for Monkeypaw. Sonar’s David Ellender and Matt Loze are executive producers along with Phil Abraham, David Rosen, Jerry Kupfer, and Alfonso Gomez-Rejon.
Season 1 is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
