James Frecheville Joins Peaky Blinders Season 6 in New BTS Photo

The official Peaky Blinders Twitter account has announced that James Frecheville has joined the cast of Peaky Blinders Season 6. Details on the character Frecheville will be playing have not yet been revealed. However, a new behind-the-scenes photo taken by Matt Squire was also shared, which you can view in full in the post below!

Frecheville’s other credits include Black ’47, Animal Kingdom, The Drop, Adore, The Dry, Requiem, and more. His upcoming projects include the sport biography Zátopek and the crime drama The Seven Sorrows of Mary from Pedro Varela. It’s interesting to note that Frecheville starred in the Oscar-nominated 2010 film Animal Kingdom as Joshua ‘J’ Cody since Peaky Blinders regular Finn Cole also currently stars in the television series adaptation of Animal Kingdom in the same role of J Cody for TNT.

Peaky Blinders is set in the lawless streets of Birmingham as it tracks the evolution of leader Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) from backstreet crime lord to legitimate businessman and member of parliament. The fifth season finds the world thrown into turmoil by the financial crash of 1929. When Tommy Shelby MP is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realizes that his response will impact not only the future of his family but that of the entire nation.

Along with Murphy, some of the returning cast members include Helen McCrory (Skyfall) as Polly Gray, Paul Anderson (The Revenant) as Arthur Shelby, Sophie Rundle (Bodyguard) as Ada Thorne (Shelby), and Finn Cole as Michael Gray. New cast members include Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) as Gina Gray, Brian Gleeson (Phantom Thread) as Jimmy McCavern, Neil Maskell (In Darkness) as Winston Churchill, and Sam Claflin (The Nightingale) as Oswald Mosley.

The Season 6 cast also includes the new additions of Conrad Khan (The Huntsman: Winter’s War) and Amber Anderson (Emma.) Season 6 has been in production since January 18, but it doesn’t sound like the story of the Shelby family will end there. Creator Steven Knight confirmed that he is still planning to produce a Peaky Blinders movie once the series comes to a close, saying that his “plan from the beginning was to end Peaky with a movie.” Knight added that the final season and movie could open new doors for potential TV spinoffs as he believes there is still more story left to tell within the Peaky Blinders universe.
