Noah Hawley Teaming With Ridley Scott for Alien Series at FX!
During the cabler’s presentation at the Disney Investors Day presentation, FX Networks revealed Noah Hawley’s Alien series is in active development, which will see the Fargo and Legion creator team with Academy Award winner Ridley Scott executive producing the project.
Hawley will helm the Alien series as FX is in advanced negotiations with Scott, who directed the first Alien film and the sequel Alien: Covenant, to join the project as EP.
Set not too far into our future, it’s the first Alien story set on Earth — and by blending both the timeless horror of the first Alien movie with the non-stop action of the second, it’s going to be a scary thrill ride that will blow people back in their seats. The project is produced by FX Productions.
Ridley Scott returned to the universe he created with Alien: Covenant, the latest chapter in his groundbreaking Alien franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
Alien: Covenant stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby, and James Franco.
John Logan (Spectre) and Dante Harper provided the Alien: Covenant screenplay. Alien: Covenant brought in over $240 million at the global box office, a disappointing sum compared to the $400 million generated by Prometheus.
