Stranger Things Season 4 Adds Robert Englund, Jamie Campbell Bower, & More

As production continues for Netflix’s Stranger Things, the streamer has announced eight new cast additions for the upcoming fourth season of the hit sci-fi series. Nightmare on Elm Street star Robert Englund has been tapped for a recurring role with Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd), Eduardo Franco (Booksmart), and Joseph Quinn (Catherine the Great) signing on as series regulars. Sherman Augustus (Into the Badlands), Mason Dye (Bosch), Nikola Djuricko (Legends) and Game of Thrones alum Tom Wlaschiha have also been cast for recurring roles.

The official character descriptions for the new cast members are listed below which also give us more insight into what to expect in the next season:

– Bower is set to play the role of Peter Ballard, a caring man who works as an orderly at a psychiatric hospital. Tired of the brutality he witnesses day after day, will Peter finally take a stand?

-Franco will be playing the role of Jonathan’s new best friend named Argyle, a fun-loving stoner who proudly delivers delicious pizza pies for Surfer Boy Pizza.

-Quinn is set for the role of The Hellfire Club’s leader, Eddie Munson, an audacious 80’s metalhead who runs Hawkins High’s official D&D club. Hated by those who don’t understand him — and beloved by those who do — Eddie will find himself at the terrifying epicenter of this season’s mystery.

-Englund is playing the role of Victor Creel, a disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s.

-Augustus will portray Lt. Colonel Sullivan, an intelligent, no-nonsense man who believes he knows how to stop the evil in Hawkins once and for all.

-Dye’s character is Jason Carver, a handsome and rich sports star who is dating the most popular girl in school. But as a new evil threatens Hawkins, Jason’s perfect world begins to unravel.

-Djuricko’s character Yuri is a seedy and unpredictable Russian smuggler who loves bad jokes, cold hard cash, and crunchy style peanut butter.

-Wlaschiha will play Dmitri, a Russian prison guard who befriends Hopper. Dmitri is smart, cunning, and charming… but can he be trusted?

Stranger Things Season 4 stars Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Chief Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Sadie Sink as Max, Maya Thurman-Hawke as Robin, Brett Gelman as Murray Bauman and Priah Ferguson as Erica Sinclair.

The series was created by Matt and Sean Duffer, who also serve as executive producers and directors along with Shawn Levy (who also directs), Dan Cohen and Iain Patterson.

Stranger Things has received 30 Emmy nominations last year (with six wins) from its first two seasons and was honored with the 2017 SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, as well as the 2017 Norman Felton Producer of the Year Award in Episodic Television — Drama from the Producers Guild of America.

Seasons 1-3 are now available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.
