One of Us Is Lying: Peacock Orders Series Adaptation of YA Novel

According to TheWrap, Peacock has given a series adaptation order to One of Us Is Lying, based on the YA novel of the same name by Karen M. McManus. The streamer has ordered eight episodes of the project.

One of Us Is Lying is the story of what happens when five strangers walk into detention and only four walk out alive.

The cast for the series includes Marianly Tejada (The Purge), Cooper van Grootel (Mystery Road), Annalisa Cochrane (Cobra Kai), Chibuikem Uche (The Tomorrow War), Barrett Carnahan (Grown-ish), Jessica McLeod (Death Note), and Melissa Collazo (Swamp Thing).

Dario Madrona (Netflix’s Elite) will serve as showrunner for the series. The pilot was written by Erica Saleh (Instinct) and directed and produced by Jennifer Morrison (Once Upon a Time). One of Us is Lying is executive produced by John Sacchi and Matt Groesch of 5 More Minutes Productions. The project is produced by UCP.

McManus’ One of Us Is Lying was first published in 2017. The novel spent 132 weeks on The New York Times bestseller list. The series adaptation was initially in development at E! before the project moved to Peacock last year.
