AMC announces NOS4A2 season 2 premiere plus first look photos!
AMC has revealed the premiere date for the highly-anticipated second season of the well-received adaptation of Joe Hill’s supernatural horror-fantasy novel NOS4A2 along with a series of first-look photos from the next chapter featuring Zachary Quinto’s (Star Trek) return as the vampire-like Charlie Manx. The first-look photos can be viewed in the gallery below!
“Following the strong success we’ve had sharing other talked-about series across our networks, most notably Killing Eve, we have another terrific opportunity to expand the audience for a great show,” Sarah Barnett, President of AMC Networks’ Entertainment Group & AMC Studios, said. “With NOS4A2, Jami O’Brien, along with an incredible cast led by Zach and Ashleigh, have delivered a unique take on the vampire story, fueled by Joe Hill’s spine-tingling novel. We’re excited to open this high-stakes story up to entirely new audiences.”
NOS4A2 centers on Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings), a gifted young woman who discovers she has a supernatural ability to find lost things. This ability puts her on a collision course with Charlie Manx (Quinto), a seductive immortal who feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – an icy, twisted Christmas village of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Vic strives to defeat Manx and rescue his victims – without losing her mind or falling victim to him herself. The series also stars Jahkara Smith, Olafur Darri Olafsson, Virginia Kull, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
The series’ second season picks up eight years after the events of season one. Vic McQueen (Cummings) remains more determined than ever to destroy Charlie Manx (Quinto). Charlie, having faced his own mortality, emerges desperate for revenge against Vic. This time, he sets his sights on the person who means most to Vic – her eight-year-old son Wayne. The race for Wayne’s soul sends Vic and Charlie on a high-speed collision course, forcing both to confront the mistakes of their pasts in order to secure a hold on Wayne’s future.
In addition to Quinto and Cummings, the cast includes Jahkara Smith (Into the Dark) , Olafur Darri Olafsson (The Meg), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Punisher), Virginia Kull (The Looming Tower), Jonathan Langdon (No Tomorrow) and Ashley Romans (Shameless).
NOS4A2, executive produced by showrunner Jami O’Brien (Hells on Wheels) and Hill, is set to return on Monday, June 1 at 10 p.m. EST.
