Debby Ryan’s Insatiable Cancelled After Two Seasons at Netflix

Following Insatiable‘s second season premiere in October, TVLine reports that Netflix has officially decided not to give Lauren Gussis’ teen revenge-comedy series a third season renewal.

Starring former Disney star Debby Ryan, the first season was met with controversy when viewers accused it of fat shaming its lead character which led to the creation of an online petition for its cancellation. However, despite the petition gaining over 200,000 signatures, Insatiable was still given a second season renewal by Netflix.

Last season, we found Patty dealing with, well, a lot. Her past was haunting her, and her struggle to be “good” was becoming harder and harder each day as she battled her inner demons. And Bob – well – he was helping her cover up Christian’s murder, but just how far would his loyalties go? Would he continue to allow his romantic relationships, his career ambitions, and his integrity take a beating, just to help Patty pursue her pageant dreams? And when beauty queens started going missing, who was to blame? Patty’s rage? Or was there more at play?

From writer Lauren Gussis (Dexter, Once Upon a Time), Ryan Seacrest Productions and Storied Media Group, Insatiable is a dark, twisted “coming of rage” story starring Debby Ryan, Dallas Roberts, and Alyssa Milano. For years, Patty (Ryan) has been bullied, ignored, and underestimated by those around her because of her weight. But now that she finds herself suddenly thin, Patty is out for payback against anyone who has ever made her feel bad about herself.

Insatiable starred Debby Ryan (Jessie), Dallas Roberts (Dallas Buyers Club), Alyssa Milano (Mistresses), Christopher Gorman (2 Broke Girls), Erinn Westbrook (In a World), Michael Provost (Elbow Grease), Kimmy Shields (Girlboss), Irene Choi (The Perfect Guy), and Sarah Colonna (Has Anyone Seen My Pants?).

The series was created by Lauren Gussis (Dexter) for Netflix. Gussis was an executive producer alongside Ryan Seacrest (American Idol), Nina Wass (Shades of Blue), Andrea Shay (Benched), Todd Hoffman (The Confirmation), Dennis Kim (APB), and Andy Fleming (Barefoot).

Both seasons are available for streaming on Netflix.
