Method Mad joins Power spinoff prequel Power Book 2: Ghost
According to Variety, Method Man has joined Starz’s Power spinoff prequel Power Book 2: Ghost. The rapper/actor will star opposite Mary J. Blige in the new series that is said to “continue the journey of some of Power’s most controversial characters,” creator and co-showrunner Courtney A. Kemp previously said.
Method Man will play David Maclean, a sharp and ethically challenged attorney who falls into the fictional murderous drug-riddled world run by Blige’s character. Though, it’s soon revealed that the lawyer with a passion for winning has a few secrets of his own.
Method Man, a Grammy Award-winning artist and former WuTang Clan member, has starred in a number of movie and television projects including How High, Soul Plane, Oz, The Wire, The Last O.G., The Deuce, and Garden State. His upcoming projects include the thriller Waldo, starring alongside Clancy Brown and Charlie Hunnam, and Ricky Staub’s Concrete Cowboys with Idris Elba.
Power Book 2: Ghost serves as one of several installments in the Power franchise under Kemp’s overall deal with Lionsgate, Starz’s parent company. The series finale of the original series will air on February 9.
