Crisis on Infinite Earths: Synopses for first three episodes revealed

With only two weeks left before the highly-anticipated premiere of Crisis on Infinite EarthsThe CW has released the synopses for the first three episodes of this year’s Arrowverse crossover event, giving us a better idea of what to expect with each episode while also teasing the unlikely team-ups among featured guest-stars and characters from different shows.

The official synopses of parts 1, 2 and 3 are described as follows:

Supergirl Episode 5.09 titled “Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Onewhich is directed by Jesse Warn from a story by Robert Rovner and Marc Guggenheim and teleplay by Derek Simon and Jay Faerber.THE KICKOFF TO THE EPIC TELEVISON CROSSOVER EVENT, CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS – The Monitor (guest star LaMonica Garrett) sends Harbinger (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) to gather the worlds’ greatest heroes – Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin), Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell), Batwoman (guest star Ruby Rose), White Canary (guest star Caity Lotz), The Atom (guest star Brandon Routh) and Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin) – in preparation for the impending Crisis. With their worlds in imminent danger, the superheroes suit up for battle while J’onn (David Harewood) and Alex (Chyler Leigh) recruit Lena (Katie McGrath) to help them find a way to save the people of Earth-38. 

Batwoman Episode 8 titledCrisis on Infinite Earths: Part Two” which is directed by Laura Belsey from a script written Don Whitehead and Holly Henderson. – CAN THE REAL CLARK KENT PLEASE STAND UP? PART TWO OF CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS CONTINUES WITH SPECIAL GUEST STARS TOM WELLING, ERICA DURANCE AND KEVIN CONROY – The group uses Ray’s (guest star Brandon Routh) invention to track new recruits to help save the universe. The Monitor (guest star LaMonica Garrett) sends Iris (guest star Candice Patton), Clark (guest star Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois (guest star Elizabeth Tulloch) in search of a mysterious Kryptonian, while Kate (Ruby Rose) and Kara (guest star Melissa Benoist) head out to find Bruce Wayne (guest star Kevin Conroy). In addition, Mia (guest star Katherine McNamara) challenges Sara (guest star Caity Lotz), Rory (guest star Dominic Purcell) discovers a hidden talent, and Lex Luthor (guest star Jon Cryer) returns.

The Flash Episode 6.09 titled “Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Three” which directed by David McWhirter from a story by Eric Wallace and teleplay by Lauren Certo and Sterling Gates. BLACK LIGHTNING JOINS THE ARROWVERSE IN THE THIRD CHAPTER OF THE CROSSOVER – Pariah (Tom Cavanagh) enlists Black Lightning (guest star Cress Williams) to help stop the Anti-Monitor (guest star LaMonica Garrett) after Flash-90 (guest star John Wesley Shipp) shares what he learned from his battle in ‘Elseworlds.’ With the help of Black Lightning, Barry (Grant Gustin), Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) come up with a plan that could save them all. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) has a heart-to-heart with Ryan Choi (guest star Osric Chau), while Oliver (guest star Stephen Amell) and Diggle (guest star David Ramsey) return to an old familiar stomping ground.

Crisis on Infinite Earths will be based on Marv Wolfman and George Pérez’s 12-issue limited comic series of the same name which was published from 1985 to 1986. The epic crossover event will kick off on December 8 in Supergirl. Part 2 will hit Batwoman on December 9, before The Flash takes part 3 on December 10. Then on January 14, 2020, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will wrap up the crossover.

The cast for the crossover will consist of characters from ArrowThe FlashDC’s Legends of TomorrowSupergirlBatwoman, and even some characters from Black Lightning, making their debut in the Arrow-verse. In addition to Brandon Routh and Tom Welling as Superman, other cast members include Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, Elizabeth Tulloch and Erica Durance as Lois Lane, Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor, Osric Chau as Ryan Choi/The Atom, Stephen Lobo as Jim Corrigan/The Spectre, LaMonica Garrett as both The Monitor and The Anti-Monitor, Tom Cavanagh as Pariah, John Wesley Shipp appearing in an unnamed role, Ashley Scott from the short-lived Birds of Prey series returning as Huntress, with Burt Ward in an unspecified role, and Kevin Conroy appearing as a version of Bruce Wayne from the future (his first time playing the character in live-action).
