Zac Efron to Star in New Quibi Adventure Series Killing Zac Efron

According to The Wrap, Zac Efron (NeighborsThe Greatest Showman) has officially signed on to star in his own survival adventure series titled Killing Zac Efron which is slated to debut on Quibi. This project will mark Efron’s first lead TV series since last appearing as a guest star in 2009 on HBO’s Entourage.

“I tend to thrive under extreme circumstances and seek out opportunities that challenge me on every level,” Efron said in a statement. “I am excited to explore any uncharted territory and discover what unexpected adventure awaits!”

Killing Zac Efron is being described as in the same vein of Bear Grylls’s Man vs.Wild It will follow the former Disney star deep into the jungles of a remote and dangerous island to carve his own name in expedition history as he tries to survive three whole weeks with nothing but a basic gear and a guide partner, who will help him navigate through the unknown environment.

The series will be executive produced by Efron. Ninjas Runnin’ Wild’s Jason Barret and Michael Simkim are also set as executive producers along with Zero Point Zero’s Chris Collins and Lydia Tenaglia.

Quibi, which is short for “Quick Bites” is scheduled to have its launch on April 6, 2020, with already more than a billion dollars raised from its investors. It has a number of projects currently in development. Guillermo del Toro, Sam Raimi, Catherine Hardwick, Steven Spielberg, Paul Feig, Anna Kendrick, Laurence Fishburne, and Don Cheadle are eight of the many producers and talents who are working hard on the production of the said projects

The streaming service, founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman, is set to feature series that run two to four hours in length and are broken down into parts that are no longer than 10 minutes in length.
