Superman & Lois: New Arrowverse Series in the Works at The CW!

Ahead of the highly-anticipated premiere of Crisis on Infinite Earths, TVLine brings word that The CW is currently in the process of developing a Supergirl spinoff series titled Superman & Lois, which will center on Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch’s own portrayals of Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane. Hoechlin first appeared as the Man of Steel in the first two episodes of Supergirl season 2 and has reprise the role in last year’s crossover event Elseworlds with Tulloch debuting as Lois.

The potential series will be the latest installment to the network’s Arrowverse following the announcement of the forthcoming Arrow spin-off Green Arrow & the Canaries which recently had started filming on its backdoor pilot that is expected to air in Arrow‘s final season.

Superman & Lois is created by The Flash executive producer Todd Helbing. It will be executive produced by DC TV universe creator Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns through their Berlanti Productions banner.

Written by Helbing, the series will follow the story of the world’s most famous Super Hero and comic books’ most famous journalist as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society. In last year’s Elseworlds, while Kara was visiting Clark and Lois at the Kent Farm, the couple revealed that Lois was pregnant with their first child.

Crisis on Infinite Earths will kick off on December 8 in Supergirl. Part 2 will hit Batwoman on December 9, before The Flash takes part 3 on December 10. Then on January 14, 2020, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will wrap up the crossover.
