Lisey’s Story was inspired by King’s own experience when he was involved in a serious accident in June 1999. The idea for the novel sprang from a sudden realization he had when he came home from the hospital and saw that all of his belongings are in boxes. Because of that, he saw a vision of what his studio would look like after his death.

The others include Sara Bareilles’ Little Voice and My Glory Was I Had Such Friends starring Jennifer Gardner. Moore and Ben Stephenson are also set as executive producers.

Lisey’s Story will also be the third collaboration between King and Abrams, who have worked together on the 11.22.63 and the Hulu series Castle Rock which is set to return for its second season this October 23.
