Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen Tease a Bigger & Better The Boys Season 2

When asked about the future of the highly-anticipated The Boys season 2, executive producers Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen told Collider that fans should expect to see a much better and bigger story than the first season.

“They already have more resources for the second season. They’re adding more characters, the scope of the show organically grows as the show continues.” Rogen said. “We just watched, actually, the first episode of the second season this week. It was a wonderful thing as producers. This is way better than I ever could’ve hoped it would be.”

Goldberg added that the second season is “definitely better than the first season,” because “immediately, it just looks a bit better, feels bigger, the actors all know what they’re doing.”

The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the supergroup known as “The Seven.” The show is expected to retain most of the comic’s (available for purchase here) boundary-pushing violence and sexuality while exploring the dark side of superhero celebrity and fame.

The series stars Karl Urban (Star Trek, Judge Dredd) as Billy Butcher, the ringleader of the vigilantes who risk it all to go against a group of all-powerful characters, with Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Jennifer Esposito as CIA agent Susan L. Rayner, and Karen Fukuhara as the Female. Elisabeth Shue co-stars in the series alongside Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, and Nathan Mitchell.
