Ronda Rousey Joins Fox’s 9-1-1 Season 3 in Recurring Role

Deadline is reporting that WWE star and former UFC champion Ronda Rousey has joined Season 3 of Fox’s 9-1-1 drama series in a recurring role.

Rousey will play Lena Bosko, a stoic and fearless member of the Los Angeles Fire Department Station 136 who leaps into action to save lives when a disaster hits.

9-1-1 is a fast-paced exploration into the lives and careers of first responders — cops, paramedics, firefighters — the people who put their lives on the line to save others. The critically acclaimed hit drama. The series is based on the real-life, high-pressure experiences of emergency response providers who are thrust into heart-stopping situations that are equal parts unpredictable, intense and uplifting. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives.

The series co-created and executive produced by Ryan Murphy alongside Brad Falchuck and Tim Minear who serves as showrunner. It stars Angela Bassett (American Horror Story, Black Panther), Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Rockmond Dunbar, and Jennifer Love Hewitt, who’ve joined the cast in season two.

Rousey’s previous acting credits include Mile 22, Furious 7, The Expendables 3, and Entourage. She was the first woman’s UFC bantamweight champion and is an Olympic medalist in Judo. Rousey is currently signed to the WWE where she performs weekly on Monday Night Raw.

Season 3 of 9-1-1 will premiere on Monday, September 23.
