Pretty Little Liars’ Drew Van Acker Joins Titans Season 2 as Aqualad!

TV Insider has brought word that the upcoming second season of the hit DC Universe series Titans has expanded its cast with the addition of Pretty Little Liars alum Drew Van Acker as the Atlantean hero Aqualad!

Acker’s casting as the character comes a few days after Doctor Who vet Natlie Gumede was cast as Mercy Graves, best known in the comic book world for being Superman nemesis Lex Luthor’s personal assistant.

Aqualad, introduced in comics in 1960, is described as a founding member of the Titans and Aquaman’s eager sidekick who was also born in Atlantis and is a member of the royal court who trained under Aquaman to be a protector of life in and out of the ocean.

Graves and Aqualad will join Esai Morales as Deathstroke, Chella Man as Deathstroke’s son, Jericho WilsonChelsea T. Zhang as Deathstroke’s daughter, Rose Wilson (aka The Ravager), and Iain Glen as Bruce Wayne for season two.

Titans follows a group of young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.

The series stars Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as Dick Grayson/Robin, Teagan Croft (Home and Away) as Raven, Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as Koriand’r/Starfire, Alan Ritchson (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) & Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Hawk and Dove, Bruno Bichir as Dr. Niles Caulder, and Lindsey Gort as Police Detective Amy Rohrbach.

From Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. TelevisionTitans is one of the all-new exclusive original live-action series coming soon to DC UNIVERSE. It comes from executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter.
