The Tick Series To End After Failing To Find New Network

Despite large critical favor from fans and reviewers alike, it came as a shock to all when Amazon revealed last month they weren’t renewing the series adaptation of the cult favorite comic book character The Tick. Afterr searching for a new home for the series, creator Ben Edlund revealed on Twitter that the search has failed, effectively bringing the series to the end.

The Tick revealed a world where superheroes and villains have been real for decades. Arthur, an unassuming accountant with no superpowers, becomes embroiled in the middle of the battle between good and evil. When he realizes that his city is owned by a global supervillain who was long thought to be dead, he struggles to uncover the conspiracy. As he becomes obsessed with the conspiracy, most people think he’s crazy. One person who believes Arthur is a mysterious new ally, The Tick, who is a bizarre blue superhero who may just be a figment of Arthur’s imagination.

Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy) played The Tick and Griffin Newman (Search Party) portrayed Arthur. From Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television, The Tick Season 2, comprising 10 episodes, is expected to premiere in 2019 exclusively on Prime Video in over 200 countries exclusively for Prime members.

The Tick s second season, which premiered just last month, was executive produced by Edlund (FireflySupernaturalGotham), Barry Josephson (Bones), Barry Sonnenfeld (Pushing DaisiesA Series of Unfortunate Events), and is co-executive produced by Kit Boss (King of the HilliZombie).

The first two seasons of The Tick are available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
