Lincoln: Arielle Kebbel to Play Amelia in The Bone Collector Pilot

Deadline is reporting that Arielle Kebbel (Midnight, Texas, Fifty Shades Freed, Ballers) will be starring in NBC’s Lincoln as the female lead in the drama pilot based on Jeffery Deaver’s The Bone Collector book series. Kebbel will play Amelia, the role Angelina Jolie portrayed in the 1999 movie adaptation.

The story revolves around Lincoln Rhyme (Russell Hornsby), an incredible forensic criminologist who suffers a horrible accident while hunting for the titular Bone Collector. Due to his bed-ridden condition, Lincoln teams up with a young beat cop, Amelia Sachs (Arielle Kebbel) in order to track down the serial killer, along with a slew of other high-profile cases.

Amelia Sachs is described as extremely bright and capable of holding her own in any situation. Russell Hornsby (Fences, Grimm) will star as Lincoln, the role previously played by Denzel Washington in the 1999 The Bone Collector film. Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) also stars as NYPD Detective Rick Sellitto, who in the series will be Lincoln’s current partner whereas in the novel was his former partner.

VJ Boyd and Mark Bianculli will write the pilot for Universal Television and Sony Pictures Television, in association with Keshet Studios. Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) will direct the pilot. The duo will also executive produce with Keshet’s Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman, Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan. Sony Pictures TV and Universal TV will produce in association with Keshet Studios.

Gordon is known for his work on ABC’s The Goldbergs, which he executive produces, and The Good Doctor. He has also directed the films Horrible BossesIdentity Thief, and Baywatch.
